Training must be usable knowledge. So GIL Team has designed training programs that ensure that every lesson is learned, practiced... and retained. And we give your team the skills they need to make sure that what they learn can be applied. We will transfer to you all we know. We not only give you tools but help your people consider cultural issues and sustain change. Our goal is for you to be self-sufficient.

Courses can be offered on site. Depending on the course the length can vary from one day to three. Workshops generally are from three to five days in length, with full service consulting included. All offerings are available in English and Spanish.

We offered Train-the-Trainer options with licensing agreements.

"InnovativeLean" for LEAN OPERATIONS
(manufacturing, office and healthcare versions available for most courses)

GIL's "InnovativeLean" Courses and workshops provide one to five days of hands-on learning in the classroom and on the plant floor. Participants learn by doing, sharing ideas and applying their creativity to the problems at hand:

  • Value Stream Mapping (Manufacturing, office, healthcare versions) --- A key tool for "InnovativeLean", visual overview of products and service families as they move throughout the organization. Map the flow from the start to the delivery. Develop current and future states.
  • Process Mapping--- Detailed view of a process showing metrics, inputs, outputs, sequence of steps and events.
  • 5S-Explanation of 5S. How it leads to order and discipline, creating the lean environment. Examples. Basis for visual management.
  • Visual Management --- Importance of Visual Management. How to organize for Visual Management. Basis for improvement.
  • Cell Design and Implementation- Looks into different types of work cells and implements the selected cell design at the operational site. Create flow. Optimize space. Improve productivity.
  • SMED/ Set-up reduction --- Basics and implementation. Metrics and follow-up. Learn the methods to change over any machine in any industry.
  • Kanban --- How to implement. "Push" vs. "Pull" systems. Kanban sizing. Signaling. Inventory levels. Supermarkets. Flow.
  • TPM --- Implementation. Predictive and Preventive maintenance. Metrics. Machine and plant wide orientation.
  • Standard Work --- The way to organize work so productivity is maximized. TAKT times. Operating sheets. Line balancing. Mixed model.
  • PokaYoke --- Learn "how-to" prevent errors. Signaling.
  • "InnovativeLean" Basics --- Introductory elements of "InnovativeLean" management. Teams. Scheduling. Cells. Reduce costs, lead time and non-value added work.
  • "InnovativeLean" Assessment --- Evaluate your present performance and compare with others. Identify weaknesses and opportunities.
  • "Innovative Lean" Strategy --- Develop your own "InnovativeLean" strategy. Involve all areas of the business. Top Management involvement.
  • "InnovativeLean" Program and Policy Deployment --- Deploy your key strategies layer by layer down the organization. Project plans.
  • "InnovativeLean" in the Office --- Value stream mapping, process mapping, 5S, visual management, kanban, standard work, cells, strategy deployment and other tools specific courses for the office and administrative processes.


"InnovativeLean" for NEW PRODUCT INNOVATION

Customized single and multi-day seminars and workshops that cover how to create leaner, more efficient products:

  • Idea Generation --- to identify new business opportunities
  • "Voice of the Customer"--- Capturing it, Importance, Methods, Planning and Organizing for VOC.
  • Concepts --- Development and Selection, Modularity, Platforms,
  • "InnovativeLean" New Product and Service Development --- ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the "InnovativeLean" development process, time-to-market requirements, "voice of the customer", eliminate waste, determine capacity of the pipeline, queues, smoothing the flow, communications and feedback.
